Dr. Gehan Attia Medical Scholarship
Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Gehan Attia
There are those who leave a lasting impact on the world long after they are gone. Dr. Gehan Attia was one of those exceptional few—a woman who changed countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to service.
A Life of Compassion and Leadership
Dr. Gehan Attia graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School in 1987 and later immigrated to the United States, where she built a fulfilling career in healthcare while raising her three daughters with her husband, Dr. George Attia. Throughout her life, she embodied the values of empathy, mentorship, and selfless giving, always going above and beyond to support those in need.

A Legacy of Service:
In 2019, Dr. Gehan Attia co-founded Rahma ’87—an initiative whose name means “Grace” in Arabic—uniting her medical school classmates in acts of charity, service, and personal growth. Her vision was to create a lasting impact by uplifting others, just as she had done throughout her life.
To honor her memory, Rahma ’87 group established the Dr. Gehan Attia Educational Scholarship, ensuring her legacy lives on by supporting future medical students in Egypt. This scholarship will:
● Sponsor deserving students throughout their medical education
● Inspire a new generation of doctors to embrace service and compassion
● Encourage recipients to join Rahma ’87, continuing Dr. Gehan’s mission of giving back
