On October 25th, 2015, I traveled to Egypt with thirteen other guests and the donor coordinator from Care 4 Needy Copts. Like the others, I hadn’t been to Egypt in years, but we all shared a common goal: to witness the work of God through the simple lives of those served by The Shepherd and Mother of Light.
I spent six days in Egypt, during which our program included visits to Misr Al Mahaba Hospital, kindergarten classes, literacy and special needs centers, and meetings with many needy families. Some visits were follow-ups on ongoing services, while others served as evaluations of new cases. I was delighted to hear several success stories, including that of Mrs. Amaal Rahgeb, a widow left to raise four daughters after her husband passed away, along with a shop. Through the support we provided, Amaal was able to reopen her shop and successfully manage the marriages of her two older daughters.
The entire experience was a blessing, and I learned the importance of being content and grateful as I met the people during this trip.
