At the beginning of 2025, the Special Needs Center at Taha faced the loss of a pure soul, a ten-year-old boy named Karas, who had been with them since he was three. In the midst of the sorrow, one compassionate donor – who had visited the center before- decided to plant a seed of joy, ensuring that Karas’s memory would endure through an act of profound love and service. This beautiful gesture led to the creation of the “Karas Retreat for God’s Beloved,” an extraordinary gathering dedicated to his brothers and sisters with special needs in Upper Egypt.
The retreat was for three unforgettable nights at The Youth and Sports City in Hurghada. Care 4 Needy Copts was blessed to fund the stay of 210 individuals with special needs, supported by a team of 40 dedicated volunteers who generously donated their time and hearts to make this event a success.
Participants came together from Ashruba, Kom Matay, Taha, Nazlet Faragallah, Nazlet Obeid, Tanouf, Tahta, Tama, El Kosheh, and El Balyana. For many attendees, the journey to the Red Sea was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Living with a disability in Upper Egypt often presents significant challenges, and simple joys like a trip to the beach can feel like an impossible dream. However, thanks to our donors and our dedicated service in Upper Egypt, this dream became a reality.
The retreat was more than just a vacation; it offered spiritual and emotional renewal. The days were filled with fun activities, fellowship, and delicious, nourishing meals. Most importantly, it provided a time for attendees to feel seen, celebrated, and loved.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the donor who chose to honor Karas’s memory in such a life-affirming way. Your generosity has sown seeds of joy that will flourish for years to come. Thank you for being the hands and feet that make these moments of grace possible.
Karas’s memory has become a ray of light, and through this retreat, his spirit of love continues to touch the lives of the most vulnerable. Thank you for making memories like this happen.
