We are overjoyed to share a monumental milestone for healthcare accessibility and quality in Upper Egypt! Misr Al-Mahaba Hospital in Bani Mazar has officially made history as the very first hospital in the entire El Minya Governorate to receive the prestigious Final Quality Accreditation from GAHAR (the General Authority for Health Care Accreditation and Regulation).

This legendary certification integrates Misr Al-Mahaba Hospital seamlessly into Egypt’s comprehensive Universal Health Insurance System. For the hundreds of thousands of underprivileged citizens in El Minya, this guarantees that medical care of the highest international caliber is now within their immediate reach.

"What we witnessed inside Misr Al-Mahaba represents an inspiring model of compassionate healthcare partnerships. Institutions that carry a genuine humanitarian message serve as a guiding light to relieve the suffering of patients without discrimination."
— Major General Emad Kadwani, Governor of El Minya

In recognition of this monumental success, the hospital was honored by a special field visit from Major General Emad Kadwani, Governor of El Minya, alongside His Grace Bishop Yolios, Coptic Orthodox Bishop of Public and Social Services (BLESS).

They were warmly received by the hospital’s core administrative leadership: Dr. Nevine Fekry (General Manager of Misr Al-Mahaba Hospital), Dr. Ihab Faltas (Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Shepherd and the Mother of Light - SMOL), and board members Dr. Gamal Zekry and Mrs. Iman Mahny.

A Glimpse Inside Our State-Of-The-Art Medical Landmark

The Governor and His Grace Bishop Yolios toured the newly updated facilities, built meticulously across 1,475 square meters. They commended the incredible medical infrastructure, which includes:

  • The Capsule Operating Room: A state-of-the-art sterile modular capsule customized specifically for intricate neurosurgeries and open-heart surgeries.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care: Equipped with 9 modern incubators and advanced life-support machines for premature infants.
  • Advanced Dialysis Unit: Housing 11 machines split strategically into negative and positive sections to preserve rigorous hygiene control.
