Many of you were touched to read about our youngest donor and volunteer, nine-year-old John from New York. We caught up with John after his trip to Egypt serving the needy during the Christmas Feast.

John and his two older sisters spent a few days with servants from the Shepherd and Mother of Light (SML) helping them to organize and pack bags of food for needy families in Cairo. When the servants took him to see all the gifts they had collected to distribute to the families—piles of macaroni, rice, tea, sugar, meat, and cookies—his heart filled with joy. Looking at all the food, he was sure that the needy families would have a nice Christmas, and he felt proud seeing how the dollars from his piggy bank could be turned into smiles in Egypt.

So what is John up to now? He’s helping his family train the new puppy they adopted, an energetic Golden Retriever named Jay. “I already taught him how to climb stairs. Now, I need to teach him to go to the bathroom outside.”

We wish you the best of luck, John!
