On June 17th, 2017, the SML team met with Dr. Usama Asham, a prominent human resources & training consultant.

Dr. Usama is a professional in the field of HR and has 18 years of experience. The topics, of the training were: “TEAM WORK” and “THE DEVELOPMENT & THE STRUCTURE OF THE SERVICE.”

The 400 staff members had a great opportunity to learn through workshops, presentations, and practice-based instruction. Dr. Asham highlighted how each individual could play a part in maintaining SML’s strong structure for all its programs and activities.

During the presentation, the team learned the importance of solid communication between employees and administration. They were also introduced to Performance Evaluations, which ensure that each staff member is meeting his or her goals. The participants were encouraged to complete mock evalutations so they could better understand how their actions contribute to a culture of responsibility, accountability, and empowerment of SML service.

Dr. Usama aided SML in implementing a performance management system, which will support growth and overall motivation for the team to perform at its best. He also coached them on how to set goals effectively for each individual according to his area of service and capabilities.

At the end of the day, the SML team was buzzing with excitement over the new skills they had gained at the seminar. They were eager to put what they learned to use to overcome everyday challenges and achieve great outcomes in the next phase of the service.
